It is organized by Niel DePonte, and every year I am staggered by young talent that's presented. This year it was on April 7, and 6 amazing young and talented musicians showed us "mom, look what we can do!" .... Seriously, it is mindboggling what they can do, and I can't imagine what they go through to achieve what they have at such young age... (And I have been complaining about stupid physical therapy.)
This year I especially liked Cellist Annie Zhang and Violinist John Fawcett. They are only 13 and 14!! CRAZY!
Just something to think about - is there a better way to educate our children and change the world than a competition? I am not saying it's all bad - but I feel there may be alternative. So we can all grow freely.
I meet so many people who says "oh, I am not artistic." that's not true. Everyone is, in one way another, because we all express our feelings. There is an outlet, that could be dance, music, paintings, writing, knitting, running, anything. It's all art. And I don't like the society that leads people to believe that they aren't so.
