I have finished these items this month, but many items has taken me a few months or longer to finish.
This month, I decided to do candle empties separately, thinking I was not going to finish any more candles in 2015. However, I finished one more, which I am including here...
It's Bath and Body Works "Frosted Cranberry" (3 wick, 14.5 oz, $22.50).
I loved this scent on a cold sniff and bought two, and it smelled the same during burning for about the first 20 hours of this candle. The scent description says "... mix of white cranberry, juicy peach and ripe red raspberries." This is odd because the name of the candle does not mention peach or raspberries. Further, the picture on the package shows "frosted red cranberries" and not WHITE cranberries. (Come to think of it, I don't think I have ever seen white cranberries. Do they smell different from red ones?) It smells like a tart something (probably representation of cranberry scent) + peach = nectarine to me, which I like. Something like a tart sweet fruit. So I don't mind so much it's off what's being said on the label. Throw was about 6 - not the strongest but I don't really like very strongly scented candles anyway, so I am happy there too.
What I did mind was the scent turned on me halfway through to become a gas or kerosene scent - utterly unpleasant and potentially poisonous. This lasted about another 20 hours, and the last 5-10 hours had no scent. It lasted about 50 hours which seems longer than most BBW 3-wicks, and I love there was no soot issues with clean burn. What I minded was chemical gas scent.
Will I repurchase? Not this year because of gas scent. Maybe I will try again next year - this year, I will not repurchase and will exchange my backup with something else.
Repurchase? - YES.
Repurchase? Maybe, I have nothing against it.....
Repurchase? Yes, in refill containers.
Will I buy them myself? No.
Repurchase? No thanks.
Another gentle cleanser I used was Philosophy Purity Made Simple travel size (30ml) - creamy formula that gently washes away dirts and grimes and what-nots. This is a best seller item and my dear friend (who has skin sensitivity) swears by this, which made me acquire this. I thought it was very nice, and have a back up already.
Pisteo Bright & Pure C Serum (2 boxes of 7 ml) This is another Korean product, it was much hyped up and very popular amongst Memebox lovers. Memebox said these are $25 per 7ml, and if you click on the link it's 87,000 won for 4 from TesterKorea website, which is approximately $74 (about $19 each). Each container have 7 day usage, so $74 for 28 days. Anyhow, I had two boxes which are expiring in December 2015, so I set aside other serums I have been using (will be in January 2016 empties!) and went ahead to use these. Result: I feel my skin tone is lighter, but I am not sure if it's because of this or retinol moisturizer I have been using or less time spent outside due to winter time. The product has no scent, it is too sticky for my taste. It's not my thing and I feel there are other vitamin C serums easily available within US (check Amazon.com) at less cost.
Lancome Advanced Genifique deluxe sample size. 1 oz for $78. I really like this serum. It's patented formula, absorbs right into my skin and feels like it conditions it to the next step.
Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Serum sample. 1 oz for $110. I also loved this - silky smooth texture. At this time, I have tons of serums to last me for some time, but I will keep this in mind next time I actually need to go out and buy serum!
Giovanni 2Chic Avocado & Olive Oil Ultra-moist Dee Deep Moisture Hair Mask 5 fl oz. $8.99 at Ulta. This is a thick cream which loosens up when you spread through your hair - no scent and works great on my hair. Repurchase? Yes, but I heard a lot of people talk about Aussie hair mask, which is about a 1/3 of the price. I am looking to try that one before repurchase.
Pantene ProV daily moisture renewal shampoo and conditioner (travel size). I hear a lot of grief about Pantene products, be it it's like putting floor wax on your hair, etc... and if that's what it takes to make my hair look good, I don't mind that. Honestly, with all downside aside, my hair likes this, it smells good, it is cost effective, and it's easily attainable (pretty much available everywhere when I travel, even in foreign countries). Repurchase? sure, if I forget my shampoo/conditioner when I am traveling, I would get them from a local store.
Peter Thomas Roth Mega Rich Shampoo (travel size). One of my favorite hotel shampoo! Smells good, works great, love this. Repurchase? no, I got this from Hilton and it's something I look forward to when I stay there. :)
Visine A eye allergy relief eyedrop. This stung my eye so much and I couldn't use it. I like Visine regular eye drop and use it, but this allergy one was not for me.
Milani Power Lip in Pink Lemonade. I think I received this from Lips Monthly, which was the worst subscription service I used last year. This product doesn't even apply evenly on my lips, do not stay on, felt weird and sticky... only tried a couple of times, will not keep it.
