I received another mud mask to review from Adovia, a new company for me!
So it happens, my skin is tired from flying across the continent. Long hours in the dry airplane air, plus weird sleep schedule, can be a challenge to your skin.
What I liked about this mask (first impression):
- Comes in a tube, which is convenient for traveling and dries out the product less
- It comes safety sealed (yay). I do wish more US companies safety sealed their products.
- Made in Israel = exotic, also close to its main ingredient.
- Demineralized water & dead sea water
- dead sea mud
- stearic acid
- cetyl alcohol
- sorbitan tristearate
- propylene glycole & chamomile extract & algae extract & papaya extract & aloe vera gel
- sunflower seed oil
- glyceryl stearate
- mandarin orange oil
- jojoba oil
- olive oil
- evening primerose oil
- peach kernel oil
- benzoic acid
- dehydroacetic acid
- benzalkonium chloride
- dead sea salt
- retinyl palmitate
- verbena officinalis leafe extract
- ginseng extract
- soybean extract
- ascorbic acid
Um.... in my opinion, this list is way too long. It shouldn't be so complicated to make a simple, natural product. Clay+ water = mud. I like my formula simple. I am sure all the other ingredients are added for good reasons, but I believe deeply in "too much is never enough"... plus alcohol is listed as 4th ingredient in this list. A minus point for me.
Scent= none (yes!)
Texture = thick mud at first, however it spreads really thin, which I like. Some mud masks are really hard to spread.
As it was spread thinly, it also dried comfortably on my skin. I was supposed to put this on 10-20 minutes, or until it dried. I left it on 20 minutes, then washed it off, to be followed my regular skincare.
Result = nice, but not outstanding.
Some mud masks are very strong and you can feel strong "pull" sensation, which can be uncomfortable I am sure. This is not one of those. It's so comfortable you can forget you have it on. On the flipside, I didn't have a strong result either. Some mud masks made my face feel so smooth like a peeled boiled egg. Unfortunately, I didnt get the same result from my application. Maybe if I were to slap it on more thickly, the result may be stronger. I still like the tube package though, and I may bring this with me for my future travels and use it on my down time!
Sponsered Post, the product was supplied to me in exchange with my review. My opinion is my own.
