Hi, I have been branching out from skincare to make up as of recently- and I saw this kit I wanted to try. I bought it on Birchbox.com at $28.
It's Laura Geller's "Beauty Flawless in a Flash" collection. It includes the following:
- 0.06 oz Baked Color True Blush in "Catalina"
- 0.06 oz Baked Balance-N-Foundation in "Medium"
- 0.2 oz "Glamlash" Dramatic Volumizing Mascara
- 1oz Spackle Hydrating Moisturizing Under Make-Up Primer
- Mini Blush Brush
- Cosmetic Bag
THE BRUSH:On the other hand, when I tried blush brush, there was a lot of hair fall out and the hair is rather coarse. I used it a few times but other brushes I have at hand, including ELF brushes, are far better. If you are buying this for a brush, I would recommend to reconsider.
THE FOUNDATION: The color in the kit is "Medium" and I am afraid it might have been a shade too dark for me. I have used it all over my face the first time I used, and I looked like I had tanned. So on the day two, I have used it like a bronzer and as such (on my fair to medium skin tone) it worked really well. There is slight shimmer but it is muted, and it won't make you look like a disco ball.
The MASCARA: It has a straight, long skinny wand and the formula is relatively thin and clump-free. I was afraid it might transfer because of its thinness but it wore beautifully! It says volumizing, but I didn't feel it was - it's more lengthening than volumizing. It gives a natural lash look which I enjoyed a lot. Definitely my favorite item out of this bag (besides the bag itself).
Overall, I felt that this bag was affordable and included wide variety of items to try out this brand if you are new to Laura Geller. I personally really liked the bag and mascara, liked the primer as a day moisturizer (but not necessarily as a primer), and was disappointed with the rest.
One can purchase her line at Ulta, birchbox, Beauty.com among many other places. She has many sets similar to this at discounted price, which a good way to try her line!
Ps. Not included in this kit, I have used baked liquid radiance foundation which was super nice with medium coverage! She is known for powder foundations, but it's worth a try if you are curious ;-)
