Here are the products I used up in April and first 1/3 of May 2015. I have injured my foot in March, and my main focus shifted to recovery of health, rather than beauty. I do believe these two are very closely connected together, so I included health items here as well. 48 products are more than I typically have! But it was also for a longer period and I have a lot of samples to go through.
Let's start with foot related items. The top 2 and bottom left are detox sap sheets from Daiso in Japan. I really like these. I wake up refreshed when my feet are tired. I especially like these after a hike. I bought ones from China on Amazon, but they aren't the same to me. Different materials. Top two are cooling, the green one had grapefruit scent I thought was lovely. The red one is warming for winter.
Bottom right is also from Japan, Lion's kyusokujikan. This one has cooling effect with herbal infusions, not messy and can be used on thighs, legs, wherever you think you need it. I liked this as well, will buy another one.
I took a lot of baths- and finished this college naturals aroma therapy body soak. I purchased this in western Massachusetts while traveling last fall. I purely went by scents available at local Walmart. I went there in a pinch, and typically don't shop at Walmart - so unlikely to be repeated in near future.
Speaking of relaxing, I finished my favorite candle of all times- springtime in Provence 2014 collection from Bath and Body Works. In the end, I have used wax warmer and poured out remaining wax to use it all up. I loved the fruity floral scent, and bought two - so you will see another one in future empties.
And Honolulu Sun also from BBW, I was allergic to this scent. To be honest, I only bought this because I fell in love with the graduated frosted glassware- I hated the candle itself from day 1. Aside from my allergies, it didn't burn very well and I ended up throwing out most of the products. Very wasteful, the purchase I regret now... But will keep the glass of course!
Only two beauty masks this month!
My beauty diary's Apple polyphenol mask was fruity and nice!
I typically like étude house's masks, but not this one- it has white thicker serum which was sticky, the reason why I don't like most snail products.
Speaking of snails, I used a couple of samples from Missha. This snail cream was gel like and not sticky, considering purchasing the full size one.
Right side is ultra water full cream- felt like a regular moisturizer. Not bad but won't go out of my way to purchase this product personally.
Here is another one from Missha- time revolution white cure science blanc serum. Very thin texture and couldn't tell the difference after one use.
Speaking of samples, I tried two from Nature Republic, super Aqua max combination watery cream and advanced cell boosting cream. I liked both of them, especially gel- like Aqua cream is on my "to buy" list. Night cream is rich and moisturizing.
Speaking of gel texture, I loved Radha intensive Youth eye gel! Felt so nice and I ended up using this all over my face. This item was sent to me for my review, and I would buy it myself next time (however I have a few others to try in the meantime...)
Another eye product I tried: Lancôme Absolue Eye precious cells in a deluxe sample size. It's rich cream, a nice product but wouldn't but a full size.
Mizon refresh time grapefruit body wash. I didn't like this product. It's from Memebox citrus care box in 2014- it didn't lather, it didn't smell grapefruity enough. It is supposed to be moisturizing which may be a reason why it didn't lather, but I prefer squiky clean. Sorry, Mizon.
Another product I didn't like- la fresh travel lite oil free make up remover wipes. It smelled nice and floral, but it wasn't very moist and didn't take off my makeup effectively, which says a lot I think given I dont wear much make up. I dislike products that fail to do its basic functions, no matter how good it smells.
Well, actually this one smelled so good I can't remember the rest! Just kidding, it controlled frizz too, one of my favorite hair serums! Garnier fructis style shine glistening drops. Available at Ulta, and drug store affordable too.
From garnier as well, this one was not good. I like rich moisturizing conditioners. I wouldn't buy a full size.
I tried these hair samples from Kracie. Ichikami shampoo and conditioner. It reminds me of... Japanese hair products, well because they are! Smells cherry blossom with strong floral rather than musk, I like the scent but the performance was just okay. They are drugstore products in Japan.
L'Occitane samples I tried. I loved the hair mask but this sample is very old and they no longer carry this in U.S.- I would have purchased the full size otherwise!
Matte fluid did nothing to my skin, and arlesienne eau de toilette is too perfume-y for me.
Here two kierl's face washes I tried. I absolutely loved blue herbal gel cleaner ( in case you haven't noticed- I like gel texture in general). It is refreshing mint scent and cooling on my skin without stripping all oil.
I didn't like facial fuel for its musky scent! Ugh! I do think if you like men's musk scent, you might enjoy this.
Masks and scrubs I tried.
Banila co Claypatra sample size- this product has a good fan base but in comparison with other mud masks I tried, I didn't feel it was spectacular.
vasanti brighten up exfoliating cleaner has small sandy- texture particles which felt a bit harsh for my skin
Skinfood black sugar mask wash off- this was not for me at all!! Greasy and too rough, only used a little bit and tossed the rest( this the brown mess....)
Garnier clean + blackhead eliminating scrub. Again musky scent is not for me, didn't like it, didn't finish the sample... ( I do like the grapefruit daily exfoliator though, that scrub is very gentle and smells fruity, I have the full size of that)
Étude house yogurt scrub massage in raspberry. This one smelled fruity and nice, my skin was smooth afterward- inexpensive and fun product.
Nivea in shower body lotion sample. I am not a Nivea fan, but I heard good things about this lotion on YouTube so decided to try this. I am not sure how it is supposed to save my time if I have to apply this in shower and rinse again. Isn't it waste of water? Me no likey!
Dr. Brandt pores no more vacuum cleaner blackhead extractor mask. My skin felt tighter, but I would much rather use nose strips such as the one on left. I don't really see blackheads on my nose, so neither one would be items I would actively seek to purchase.
Three samples that didn't make huge impact on my life... Not on my to buy list.
One sample made it to my to buy list. I am not a big fan of rich moisturizer, but this is a good one. Philosophy renewed hope in a jar. Smells good and not overly thick.
Estée Lauder DayWear SPF 15. It has a green scent, and absorbed skin nicely. I typically go for a higher SPF, so I don't know I would purchase this again.
Umni recipe firming pact for smooth skin. My first cushion pact was a fail.... I hardly used this but giving up anyway. t never blended well with my skin, it felt heavy on my skin. Got this in my memebox and will not repurchase.
And the rest are supplements. Please note all the items here are items I used up at this time, some I have began using last year and now finishing. Please don't think I have consumed all this in a month! I am a big believer of too much is never enough.
Having said that, there definitely a bigger push to use supplements to recover faster.
Also, I really haven't found my favorite brand- so I got a variety of brands here.
First off, calcium supplements for stronger bones! They come in tablets, but also shown here, as calcium chews and tums (which also help indigestion). Cocoa and cream is my favorite flavor.
As to chews, this is rite aid dupe for viactiv. It actually has more vitamin K than viactiv, so I actually prefer the knock off.
This was for my foot- anti- inflammatory joint support pain relief by eu natural. 30 day supply for $39.99. My condition was worsened this period unfortunately, which may have nothing to do with this product but definitely a fail product for me. Will not repurchase. The company says take up least 3 month for a best result.... And I just haven't got patience for it. I will be running my race in that period, so forget it.
Order another product from another company, will see if that one works.
Hyperbiotics make probiotic products. They sent me this bottle for review, and I would venture to say this was my favorite! My body reacted the best with it, maybe because... I am a woman? Not sure why, but if you are looking into probiotics, this is a good one to try.
These two caused no effects for me, so will not obtain these again.
And the final item- I bring multi- vitamin for my trips as bringing bunch of supplements get bulky and inconvenient. It makes me sick to my stomach sometimes, so I moved to powder format such as emergen c multi vitamins or green powders.
Here is a bonus empty- my favorite energy bar goes to Kind ;-) I like all the ones I tried.
Alright, that's it falks! I feel there are a lot of fails this time around, and hope next one would bring more favorite than fail. Enjoy May everyone!
